Michael Finley was picked up by the San Antonio Spurs in September of 2005.  This year his contract was up, and I was actually shocked that the Spurs re-signed him.  The aging guard played less minutes in the playoffs last season than in previous seasons, averaging only 23 minutes per playoff game.

Michael Finley is a two time All-Star and has played with the Phoenix Suns and the Dallas Mavericks franchises.  Finley completed his 13th season in the NBA and averaged 16.7 points and 4.6 rebounds in his career.

The older Spurs team needs to get some young, fresh faces on their roster to be able to compete with the talented, upcoming teams in the Western Conference.  Hopefully Finley will have a good year and help the Spurs make another run for the Championship.
