Sasha Vujacic Rolls Ankle In Training Camp

The machine as he calls himself, Sasha Vujacic rolled his left ankle while trying to avoid teammate DJ Mbenga during a Los Angeles Lakers training camp scrimmage.  Initionally there was no apparent swelling and is being diagnosed as a moderate sprain.

The 6′ 9″ sharpshooter from Yugoslavia has been in the NBA for 4 years and has career averages of 39% field goal shooting, 38% three point shooting, 86% free throw shooting, 5.2 points per game, 1.2 assists per game and 1.8 rebounds per game.

Last season Sasha really found his game.  He was more determined and had an extreme defensive stance.  This led to Phil Jackson giving him more playing time minutes and Sasha took advantage of it.  Sasha’s ankle hopefully is a minor setback and he should be healthy for the fast approaching 2008-2009 season opener.
