Lakers Stop Celtics 19 Game Winning Streak
The Los Angeles Lakers had something to prove on Christmas afternoon when they defeated the Boston Celtics and stopped their 19 game winning streak, which was the most games won in a row so far this season. After last years NBA Championship battle, the Lakers were left feeling demoralized after losing the title in 6 games. This was a good test for the Lakers now that Andrew Bynum is back from his season long injury last year. Even though this was only one game, the Lakers can now mentally feel better about themselves and hopefully make it back to the finals and take care of business against the Celtics. That’s if the Celtics can make it back also, Cleveland might have something to say about that.
The Lakers victory takes them to 24 wins and 5 losses on the season, winning with a final score of 92-83, led by Kobe Bryant with 27 points. Pau Gasol was huge in the final minutes of play scoring 20 points on the night. Off the bench, Lamar Odom and Sasha Vujacic both contributed with 10 points. The Lakers are holding the #1 spot in the Western Conference and will more than likely keep it throughout the year.
