The Cavs Demoralize The Champs
The Cleveland Cavaliers took care of business once again at Quicken Loans Arena against the Championship winners Boston Celtics. There was no point in this game when the Cavs didn’t have full control over the tempo. Cleveland now moves to a 19 and 0 record on their home turf and the only team that has not lost in their castle winning with a final score of 98-83. The struggling Celtics as of late lossed their 4th straight game after a brilliant start.
Leading the way for the Cavaliers was of course “The King”, Lebron James who had 38 points. Anderson Varejao contributed 14 points and Maurice Williams had 13 points. Off the bench, Daniel Gibson knocked down 10 points to lead the second team.
What I found really interesting in this game was Doc Rivers in the fourth quarter down the stretch went to the “Hack-A-Ben” philosophy, fouling Ben Wallace the worst free throw shooting in history when the Celtics really had no chance of coming back facing an insurmountable point difference. Big Ben did step up though hitting 50% of his free throws. The Cavs this year led by The King look extremely determined to make it to the Finals.
