Lakers And Spurs Put On A Shooting Clinic

The first meeting of the year between the Los Angeles Lakers and the San Antonio Spurs showed just how good these teams can shoot the ball.  During the first three quarters both teams had a shooting average over 60%, and it wasn’t because of poor defense, it was just excellent offense.  When it was all said and done, the Lakers finished with a 56% shooting percentage and the Spurs finished with a 57% shooting percentage.

The newest addition to the roster for the Spurs, Roger Mason, sank the winning bucket yet again for the Spurs and went to the foul line to give the victory to San Antonio over LA with a 1 point lead with a final score of 112-111.  Mason on the night had 18 points on 7 for 11 shooting, and is really becoming a key shooting for the Spurs.

Manu Ginobili was the high man for the Spurs with 27 points, his season high.  Tim Duncan and Tony Parker both had 20 points, and Matt Banner contributed 10 points on 4 for 7 shooting.  This is a good win for the Spurs taking their record to 25 wins and 12 losses.
