Cleveland And Detroit Play Grind It Out Ball

On Super Bowl Sunday the Cleveland Cavaliers met up with the Detroit Pistons, and it was a grind it out game all the way.  I really enjoy watching the teams that play fantastic defense, and their was no shortage of it this game.  The Cavaliers were down at the start of the fourth quarter but made a strong run and overtook the Pistons for the win with a final score of 90-80.  This was the Pistons 4th straight home loss, which they haven’t lost that many in a row at home in over 8 years.

As always the leading scorer for the Cavaliers was Lebron “The King” James with 33 points on 12 for 25 shooting.  The only other two players in double figures was Moe Williams with 22 points and Zydrunas Ilgauskas with 13 points.  Daniel “Boobie” Gibson played a key role early in the fourth quarter with 3 straight buckets to give the Cavaliers the momentum to carry them throughout the rest of the game.  Cleveland’s record this season now improves to 37 wins and 9 losses.
