Lakers Snap Celtics Streak For A Second Time
The Los Angeles Lakers have done it again to the Champion Boston Celtics. They snapped their winning streak at +12 without the injured Andrew Bynum. The Lakers had previously stopped their +19 streak, back on Christmas day. This was one thrilling game, it was a tight game through all 4 quarters that ended in a tie, and the game was decided in overtime. Boston had a chance to win the game with 3 seconds left and 1 point behind, but Pau Gasol blocked the final shot from Ray Allen. The final score ended at 110-109.
Kobe Bryant was the leading scorer for the Lakers with 26 points on 10 for 29 shooting. Two other players had 20 or more points including Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom. Off the bench, Jordan Farmar led the backups with 7 points on 100% field goal shooting in only 12 minutes of play time. The Lakers now have the best record in the NBA at 40 wins and 9 losses, with Boston and Cleveland only a game or so behind them.
