NBA’s Top 10 All Time Leaders For Points Scored

Published by techspotlight under NBA, Records Edit This

One of the most impressive records you could hold in the NBA is for total points scored.  Not only does this record mean you must be able to score the ball well, but you must also have a long career and be injury free for the most part.  Surprisingly, Wilt “The Stilt” Chamberlain the record holder for most points scored in a single game with a 100, places on this list in 4th place and Michael Jordan, the 6 time ring bearing champion holds down the 3rd spot.  Of all the current players today, Shaquille O’Neal is the closest to the Top 10 with 26,286 total points scored.  The Top 10 list comprises some of the most premier NBA basketball players in history.

  1. 38,387 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
  2. 36,928 Karl Malone
  3. 32,292 Michael Jordan
  4. 31,419 Wilt Chamberlain
  5. 27,409 Moses Malone
  6. 27,313 Elvin Hayes
  7. 26,946 Hakeem Olujawon
  8. 26,710 Oscar Robertson
  9. 26,668 Dominique Wilkins
  10. 26,395 John Havlicek

All Time Block Leaders Of The NBA

Published by techspotlight under NBA, Records Edit This

Hakeem Olajuwon the two time world champion center for the Houston Rockets in 1994 and 1995 is at the top of the leaderboard for the most blocks ever in the NBA.  He led the league in shot blocking three times in 1990, 1991 and 1993.

The list below contains the Top 10 all time leaders for total blocks during there careers.

3,830  Hakeem Olajuwon
3,278  Dikembe Mutombo
3,189  Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
3,064  Mark Eaton
2,954  David Robinson
2,894  Patrick Ewing
2,542  Tree Rollins
2,520  Shaquille O’Neal
2,361  Robert Parish
10  2,356  Alonzo Mourning

Look how dominant Hakeem was guarding the basket.  There is no one even close to him in total blocks.  He was truly a defensive machine.

Just outside the Top 10 are Tim Duncan, Ben Wallace and Marcus Camby.  Shaq will probably end up in the 7th spot before his career is over.

NBA’s All Time Career Assist Leaders

Published by techspotlight under NBA, Records Edit This

It was a sad day for me when John Stockton retired in 2003.  The king of assists had over 15,000 in his long career.  The funny thing about assists is, you must have that other superstar on your team to cash in.  In the case of Stockton, he had Karl Malone, the second leading all time scorer.  Nobody is even close to the accomplishent that Stockton has achieved and I doubt in today’s game, that John’s record will standup to the test of time.  The list below contains the top fifteen all time leading assist leaders of the NBA.

Rank  Assists  Player
15,806  John Stockton
10,334  Mark Jackson
10,141  Magic Johnson
9,887  Oscar Robertson
9,497  Jason Kidd
9,061  Isiah Thomas
8,966  Gary Payton
7,987  Rod Strickland
7,392  Maurice Cheeks
10  7,211  Lenny Wilkens
11  7,160  Terry Porter
12  7,095  Tim Hardaway
13  6,955  Bob Cousy
14  6,917  Guy Rodgers
15  6,788  Steve Nash
