One of the big upsets in the assists category was Chris Paul of the New Orleans Hornets. Paul excelled his game into a superstar status all season long. He overtook Steve Nash who was the assist king for the last 3 years.
The age of the two dominant passers, Nash and Kidd, will probably being coming to an end. The talent of Chris Paul and Deron Williams will most likely keep them at the top of the leaderboard in the assists category, albeit that they stay healthy and injury free. The abilty of these two point guards will make an intense rival for years to come.

The scoring title is one of the most coveted prizes for basketball players. While it is not a Championship ring, most pure scorers aim at being at the top of the list when it comes to the average points scored per game. Now that we are only a few weeks away from the start of the new season, lets revisit the 2007-2008 scoring leaders. There were no big surprises like their usually is, within the scoring statistics. Lebron James did over take Kobe Bryant this year, which really didn’t come as a shock, due to Kobe’s unselfish play that got the Los Angeles Lakers a division title.
