The Champs Get Beat At Amway Arena

The Champion Boston Celtics went into the Orlando Magic’s house and gave them a run for their money.  Even though the Magic had a 16 point lead in the first half, the champs continued to fight and they had a chance to win the game with less than 2 seconds left, when Paul Pierce took a fade away 3 pointer for all the glory, but the shot was all air and the Magic even the season long series to 2 and 2.  The thrilling game was a joy to watch, and it ended with the final score being 84-82.

Leading the Magic was Dwight Howard who had 24 points and 21 monster rebounds.  Rashard Lewis also helped their cause knocking in 21 points on 6 for 10 field goal shooting.  The crowd of more than 17,000 fans were on their feet at the end of this great win.  The Magic improve their record to 53 wins and 18 losses on the year.

Without AI Detroit Gets A Win

The Detroit Pistons headed to Florida without Allen Iverson due to him having an MRI, and met up with the third place Orlando Magic.  This is the first time Richard Hamilton has started since the change sending him to the bench by letting AI take the starting role at the shooting guard position.  Well good ole Rip went off and the whole team meshed so well together that they should really take a look at keeping Rip in the starting lineup and having Iverson come off the bench.  The Pistons come away with the win with the final score ending at 93-85.

The top 3 scorers for Detroit were Richard Hamilton with 31 points, Rodney Stuckey with 22 points and Tayshaun Prince with 17 points.  The Pistons finally snapped their 8 game losing streak by beating a well grounded team.  Hopefully the Pistons will be putting this kind of effort in the rest of their games this season, as we all miss seeing their great defense and team chemistry that we have come to expect.

CP3 Guides The Hornets To An Easy Win

Chris “CP3″ Paul was blazing hot on Wednesday night when the Orlando Magic came into town of the New Orleans Hornets home.  Right off the bat the Hornets made a statement shooting the ball extremely well and locking in on their defensive tactics limiting the Magic from scoring.  Paul threw up 16 points in the first quarter that inevitably led to an impressive blowout where the Hornets won easily with a final score of 117-85.

CP3 was the high scorer for the Hornets with 36 points on 14 for 22 field goal shooting.  Paul also had 10 assists, 6 rebounds and 3 steals.  The New Orleans team also had 5 other players in double figures including Rasual Butler, David West, Melvin Ely, Devin Brown and Peja Stojakovic.  Lets see if the Hornets can make a strong push in the second half of the year and end up in one of the top 4 slots in the Western Conference.
